Eye & Vision Exams at Golden Vision Optometry in San Gabriel and Rowland Heights

At Golden San Gabriel Optometric Vision Center and Golden Rowland Heights Optometry, we offer an array of eye exams. Regular eye exams can help you protect your vision in the long term. We also offer specialized eye exams for eye conditions, such as glaucoma. In order to protect your vision get started with a comprehensive eye exam at our offices.

Regularly Scheduled Eye Exams

Your vision health needs to be regularly maintained just like your physical health. The best way to check your vision is through regularly scheduled eye exams. We typically recommend that you get an eye exam once a year. However, if you have vision correction needs or an eye condition you may need to see your optometry professionals at Golden Vision more frequently. Ask our eye doctor how often you should get an eye exam.

Benefits of an Eye Exam

The main reason that we want to examine your eyes is to check for vision issues, eye conditions, infections, and other eye problems. By checking your vision on a regular basis we are better able to detect problems early on. Detecting vision issues early can help us treat your eye conditions before they become more serious.

We also use eye exams to help you keep a check on your general health and wellness. Did you know that we are able to determine that you may have physical health problems, such as diabetes or high cholesterol, by performing an eye exam? Your optometry experts here at Golden Vision are on the lookout for any abnormalities or changes in your eye health during an eye exam. This allows you to have a peace of mind in knowing that your eye doctor is also able to identify other underlying health issues that you may not be aware of.

What to Expect During an Eye Exam at Golden Vision

At Golden Vision we typically begin with a general health screening during an eye exam. This is followed by a vision acuity test and refraction test, if it is determined that you have a vision correction issue. We also use an eye pressure test to look for signs of glaucoma. Another test we perform during most of our patients’ eye exams is binocularity testing. This test evaluates your vision coordination.

Testing for Eye Exams

As for the procedures we use during eye testing at Golden Vision, these will vary depending on your eye care needs. For example, we may suggest LASIK eye surgery as a way to remedy your vision correction issues permanently. If your optometrist needs to look internally into your eyeball, dilation will be utilized. Other types of tests that we may use include:

  • Pachymetry
  • OCT Scan
  • Visual field analysis
  • Peripheral vision testing
  • Corneal topography

These tests will only be used as required to improve your vision and eye health.
